Nine years ago, while recovering from surgery to repair ruptured and detached tendons in my left leg, I decided to pick up a few painting supplies and see what would happen.
I've always had an artistic side, but painting challenged me in a completely different way. I had to learn how to make simple brushstrokes and colors create the illusion of life.
Today, painting remains one of my favorite ways to step away from the pressures of business and simply relax. I never begin with a finished picture in my mind. Instead, I let the canvas lead the journey, allowing each painting to develop naturally as the brush moves across it.
If there's one subject that always finds its way back to me, it's the outdoors. Nature has always been my greatest inspiration—its quiet beauty, changing seasons, and peaceful landscapes remind me to slow down and appreciate the world around us. I hope these paintings bring you a little of that same peace and invite you to see the beauty I found along the way.

This was the first painting I ever completed, and it remains one of the most meaningful to me.
The camp you see here was a place my brother-in-law and I both loved. After he suffered a stroke, I began taking him back so he could reconnect with the woods, the camp, and a place that held so many memories for both of us. Our weekends became less about hunting and more about enjoying the peace and beauty of nature together.
Eventually, neither of us was able to make the trip anymore. He passed away the following year.
This painting preserves more than a hunting camp. It preserves a friendship, countless weekends together, and a place that will always hold a special place in my heart. Every time I look at it, I'm reminded that while seasons may end, the memories we create with those we love never truly fade.
